Choir Begins?

My doctor has given the okay for me to return to choir on a part-time limited basis. My plans are to have a short semester, March through the end of May. A phone survey has been completed of members from last spring and there seems to be enough interest in still having choir this spring. If you have not been contacted and are interested in joining choir this spring, please contact me at the choir email address: xlchoir@hotmail.com.

Our initial meeting and registration will be on Thursday, March 6. This is a required meeting and must be attended by at least one parent or other designated responsible adult. Rehearsals will begin the following week. We will just be having a Treble Choir and a Mixed Chorus this semester. Red Bluff will car-pool to Redding on Thursdays and I will not be able to offer Xpress Choir this semester. Choir will return to a full schedule in the fall.

Although we do not have a definite location as yet for our meeting and rehearsals, there are several people exploring our options and we hope to have this resolved by next week.

Stanford Report for February

Saw my hematologist at Stanford on Tuesday, February 5. My blood counts are holding steady for my red and white blood cells, platelets and cancer. We now know a dosage of my cancer drug that I can take and maintain my blood counts so my treatment can remain consistent. We did not expect to see any change in the cancer levels until after 3 cycles of treatment. We were just happy those numbers weren't worse after the long break in treatment over the holidays due to my low counts with my white blood cells. I have tolerated this dosage well and have not been so fatigued all the time. It has been nice to feel I can add a little more activity into my life.

I am in progress on my third cycle of treatment now and finally feel like I am moving forward. I was pleased that the doctor would allow me to add three of my supplements back into my daily routine. I do take a lot of pills these days, but all of the extra supplements have made a difference in how I feel.

Thank you for your faithfullness in continuing to stand with us through my battle with cancer. Your love, support and especially your prayers sustain us day to day
